Humble Beginnings
How We Started
Central Insulation Systems was founded in 1988 by Steve Kirby, who recognized an opportunity to provide professional insulation services to Cincinnati's commercial and industrial community. Operating from a modest location on Central Parkway, the company began with a focus on quality insulation installation and applied fireproofing.
From the start, Steve built the company on a foundation of technical expertise, regulatory compliance, and customer-first service. This commitment attracted a growing client base that valued reliability and professionalism.

How We Grew
As demand for our services expanded, Central Insulation Systems evolved to meet increasingly complex project requirements. We expanded our service offerings to include asbestos removal, lead paint abatement, hazardous waste remediation, and interior demolition, requiring additional certifications and specialized training.
In response to growth, we relocated to a larger, more strategically positioned facility in St. Bernard, Ohio. This move allowed us to expand our capabilities while maintaining our core values of safety, compliance, and professional excellence. Today, our team regularly manages projects across multiple states, from single-family homes to large commercial and industrial facilities.

Steve founded Central Insulation Systems in 1988 as a privately owned company serving the Cincinnati, Ohio area from its original location on Central Parkway. What started as a small company quickly expanded as demand grew for high-quality insulation, environmental services, and licensed asbestos removal. Fun Fact: Steve was in the first training class in Ohio to receive a license for asbestos removal.
